At Apple Tree Montessori School, the foundations for successful learning are laid when it counts- during the earliest years.   In the Toddler classroom (starting at age 2 1/2) the environment supports the uniqueness of this age group.  Chairs, tables, puzzles, books, and activities are at their level of development.  The social environment is a significant aspect of the Toddler classroom.  The children learn how to take turns, respect other's work, and develop language skills within the academic setting.  Another large part of the Toddler program is toilet training and therefore children do not need to be potty trained to start school.  As a child sees their friends using the toilet, they become interested and the whole procedure comes naturally.

The Montessori Toddler and Preschool (children ages 3-5) programs present a personalized approach which respects the individual and their unique learning style.  Children discover the joy of learning which is manifested in the child’s performance.  The prepared environment in the classroom is designed to give the child new experiences and to develop specific concepts.  The child works in an atmosphere of freedom and responsibility.  Different areas of interest are prepared to introduce to him the total reality- Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, Geography, History, Natural Science, Social Science, Art and Music. The Montessori certified teacher is always close, observing and preparing to help with the next lesson or question.

Now that the foundation for academic excellence has been established, the journey can continue through the 8th grade at Apple Tree Montessori.
